BUD-WEIS-ER
I love this advertisement makes me laugh every time I see it. It contains three frogs that are up on a Budweiser bottle. The frogs are looking a little grumpy per say. Then when you hear them speak they sound tough and older sounding. The ad is very short and sweet a total of only three words. Which sometimes when advertising for something as simple as beer, short and sweet is the better way to go. For myself, I can’t stand long advertisements they get to boring. Just make it eye catching, I personally have seen the Budweiser ad on television, internet and on billboards and it seemed to be pretty popular. Although, one of the pictures, I have posted is from 1996 so, that just goes to show you how long they have stuck in my head. Although, I have seen this ad on television it’s now very rare. I really only see Budweiser commercials during the superbowl. Which seems crazy to me because you have to pay an extreme amount of money to advertise during the superbowl.
The Budweiser is more just a plain-folk advertisement. It’s simple and one that the everyday ordinary person can relate with. This does incorporate the association principle. The frogs are a positive funny part to the ad that will get people interested and tempted to purchase the product. It’s using technology in ways like the frogs voices. Obviously frogs can’t speak so they have to use a system that makes them have voices and pretend like their speaking. Especially altering the voices to go along with the frogs tongue movements.
I have never seen an particular ad like this one. But, could say many companies are starting or have used animals such as, Geico and Aflac. Which animals are becoming a popular aspect to advertising. They are advertising for the Budweiser beer company which is a very large company. They are focusing on an audiences 21 and over. I really don’t find anything offensive. I don’t think anything was overbearing or pushy to try and get people to believe in their product. It was just a cute catch of the eye advertisement. It is targeted for the one’s that drink beer. Although, I don’t Budweiser ads with the three frogs still definitely catch my attention.
I believe it’s definitely memorable. It’s short but sweet. The voices and tones of the frogs really stick in your head. The frogs always seem to work. I really haven’t seen many Budweiser commercials on television anymore. They really need to bring the frogs back. I know that even my friends remember all the cool popular frogs. We actually will talk about them every time we all go out together.
The Budweiser advertising definitely did a good job of reaching their target age of 21 and over. Budweiser still seems to be a very popular beer and the company seems to still be booming. As well as always coming out with new products to meet their customers wants and needs. I would have to say though they must up their advertisements.
